Celine is a gorgeous, contemporary home based in South East London. The interiors are unique but understated, blending pastels with dark and earthy tones, across a range of textures, patterns, upholsteries, furniture and decor.
At the front of the house, clients will find a tucked-away living area. Here, clients will find an eye-catching living room, boasting cream sofas with wooden trims - additional seats for guests come in warm, tanned leather. The standout feature wall within the living room presents a gold-framed mirror, set against an eye-catching tropical wallpaper, both adding to the brightness of the room. A circular straw lighting fixture, scattered plants and wood panelling either side of the wallpaper gives this cosy space a natural, rustic finish.
Crittal-style sliding doors create a broken-plan effect between the living room and the spacious kitchen/ living/ dining area. The impressive kitchen pops excitingly with colour; sleek storage units come in a deep, forest green, contrasting softly with the light raw wood that forms the lengthy central island and bookshelves. The island, finished with an overhanging marble countertop, also serves as a breakfast bar, providing more workspace in addition to the adjacent dining and seating area. Celine’s interior themes are consistent - this open-plan space resumes the use of wooden, leather and soft-furnished combinations of upholsteries and furniture. A welcoming, cushioned banquette nook is tucked away to the side of the dining space, with plenty of books tucked beneath for convenience. Directly opposite, another reading corner can be discovered, this time equipped with a modern, grey sofa surrounded by tall, verdant plants. Above both areas hang a range of intriguing and eye-catching contemporary artwork, adding to the already-stimulating decor of the room.
Upstairs, clients will find themselves two Scandi-style bathrooms - both spaces lined with a range of pastel-coloured, geometric and rectangular tiles, set against opposing terrazzo tile flooring, competently fusing an array of visual textures and palettes. Clients will find a beautiful alcove bath in one bathroom, and a lavish wetroom shower in the other, both finished with chic black sanitary fittings and even more biophilic design to add to the tropical vibe.
Celine has two bedrooms, the master bedroom being available upon request. The other bedroom, however, will not disappoint. This room, newly refurbished, presents plenty of storage and bookshelves which can prove highly useful, particularly for creative lifestyle shoots. The large bed sits against another wood-panelled wall, half of which is formed with black planks and half of a patterned wallpaper. The decor comes mostly in neutral tones, with splashes of blue and some green from the plants. It also provides a fantastic, high view of the surrounding greenery outside, via a wide glass window. The master bedroom is finished with soft and subtle yellow hues; the warmth of the room is raised through the use of plush, blood-orange furniture and accessories, as well as funky, sandy designer graphic curtains. A contemporary rattan chest of draws sits directly opposite the inviting bed, decorated with knick-knacks, lampshades and (surprise!) more plants. Ingeniously, the wall behind blends into one large wooden panel - the door camouflages itself, creating an increased sense of privacy and tranquillity.
Last, but not least, Celine’s garden is modest and serene. Clients will find plenty of wonderful trees and flowers, as well as vegetable patches to the side of the grass bed. The back of the garden presents a small area of wooden decking, along with seats, perfect for outside dining and gathering.
