Clayhill is the perfect mixture of shabby and chic which works as a great location house in Kent.
It makes an apparent nod to more contemporary trends, with white ceramic tiles, wooden wall panelling and a poured concrete floor, but as you move throughout the rest of the house, there are many elements which showcase its rustic roots. These include the scuffed wooden staircase, the original wooden floorboards in the bedrooms, the beams on the ceiling and some battered-looking furniture, such as the storage cabinet in the kitchen.
Even the pops of colour and mismatching of furniture throughout the different rooms, which contrast the house’s more neutral base palette, establish a feeling of laissez faire; nothing is too perfect, or too coordinated; it is a random eclectic mix of textures and colours, of modern and antique, but somehow, it all comes to together seamlessly.
One of the biggest appeals of this Kent based shoot location also is its outdoor space, overlooking acres of beautiful land.
