Rooke is an ultra-modern house on the River Thames in Oxfordshire. As you enter, you’re immediately struck by the sense of openness and light, courtesy of the unique arched design of the house showcasing huge windows.
The main living / dining / kitchen area are all inter-linked and are decorated in a white / grey / black theme throughout. The kitchen is fitted out with dark matt handle-less units, accented with a white marble centre island, complete with hob, and white marble work tops. The flooring throughout is concrete tiling and the industrial style lighting blends in perfectly.
The living area features more marble, with striking black patterning, which can be found as a backdrop to the black steel log burner. To add warmth, the seating and flooring are softened with cushions and rugs. Throughout the living area there are a great selection of mature tropical plants, which complement the views through the large windows onto the landscaped garden beyond.
Off the living area is a striking home bar, with mirror-backed shelving that houses an impressive selection of drinks and is lit in neon blue. Ultra-modern seating complements this area perfectly. Nearby, there is a circular glass opening in the floor which leads down spiral stairs to the liberally stocked wine cellar below.
Upstairs, all of the 4 bedrooms are light and modern and boast lovely views of the garden. In the basement area you’ll find an extremely comfortable cinema room complete with a star effect ceiling and its own popcorn machine.
Outside, the garden and grounds are as lovingly thought-out as the interior, with a great raised patio area for outside dining, swimming pool, hot tub, tiki bar and far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside.
