Based in West Sussex and spread across 3 floors, this beguiling Victorian house has something for everyone.
Carousel’s concise but magical themes range from fairground fairy tale, to faded French chateau charm, to a soft and tropical modern.
This historic property is nestled in the heart of the South Downs, and has been specifically designed for the purpose of photographic stills and filming prospects. Its amazing props, original features and architecture throughout, make it more than fit for its purpose.
On the ground floor, you’ll find 2 spectacular reception roomswith high ceilings, beautiful original windows and large marble fireplaces. The main reception room boasts original Victorian cornices and ceiling roses, contrasting in white, with the bright and warm, hand-painted ceiling and walls. The tremendously grand windows invite in a healthy amount of sunlight to this already-cheerful space.
Clients will also find a sturdy kitchen, fronted with light kitchen island.
A bright wood panelled snug can also be found with a hand painted feature wall, and a verdant Victorian glass orangery. This unmatched orangery allows in a further abundance of natural light and provides unobstructed views(through marvellous white-paned windows) of the rich, green grounds.
Carousel has 55 acres of thick woodland and roaming open-fields with far-reaching views across the rest of the downs. Running through the woods is an alluring winding stream, complete with a wood-fired jacuzzi, an incredible fire pit with woodland seats.
A unique feature entangled in this outstanding woodland, and further adding to the fairy tale fantasy, is an abandoned door, giving clients the opportunity to run even further with their imagination.
The owners have recently added a stylish yoga cabin, complete with a wood burning stove, a stylish black exterior, and light and airy interiors.
Back inside this one-of-a-kind property, the as-yet un-renovated parts of the house are also accessible and provide a wonderful blank canvas for a multitude of creative shoots. These spaces, bursting with historical character, include a worn attic and 2 spacious rooms, both featuring dark wooden floors, Victorian wallpaper, original fireplaces, wide sash windows and spectacular antique furniture.
